Facial rejuvenation is a cosmetic treatment (or series of cosmetic treatments), which aims to restore a youthful appearance to the human face. Facial rejuvenation can be achieved through either surgical and/or non-surgical options. Procedures can vary in invasiveness and depth of treatment. Surgical procedures can restore facial symmetrythrough targeted procedures and facial restructuring and skin alterations. Non-surgical procedures can target specific depths of facial structures and treat localized facial concerns such as wrinkles, skin laxity, hyperpigmentation and scars.
Surgical (invasive) facial rejuvenation procedures can include a brow lift (forehead lift), eye lift (blepharoplasty), facelift (rhytidectomy), chin lift and neck lift. Non-surgical (non-invasive) facial rejuvenation treatments can include chemical peels, neuromodulator (such as botox), dermal fillers, laser resurfacing, photorejuvenation, radiofrequency andUltrasound.
Intense pulsed light from a pulsed light system (or laser) is in the skin selectively dark chromophores, pigments melanin or oxyhemoglobin (red blood pigment) absorbed, thereby converting the light energy into heat locally. This allows hair to be removed (-Photoepilation), eliminates unwanted pigmentation and disturbing, dilated blood vessels and skin overall streamlined and rejuvenated.
What happens during a treatment with Photosilk?
First, the hair is shaved, which would otherwise burn the light pulse and brushed makeup etc. Located in the treatment area. Before the handpiece is placed with its filter window, the skin is coated with thin clear transparent aqua gel (such as ultrasound gel). This has mainly the task of visually align the uneven, textured skin surface to the plane filter window, so that the energy of the light pulse can penetrate optimally without reflection losses in the skin.
If treatment with Photosilk painful?
Skin Rejuvenation with Photosilk is – compared with lasers or IPL air-cooled systems – painless and well acceptable, the light pulse can be felt only as a feeling of warmth or slight pricking. The treatment surface of the handpiece is actively cooled with water to about 10 °. Thus, before, the treated skin area around the contact surface is cooled during and after each pulse. That, and the special UPL technology of the handpiece are reasons for a comparatively gentle, painless therapy with Photosilk.
What happens after treatment?
Pigment spots immediately after the pulse light treatment or darker turn gray-brown. The appearance of a slight redness on the edge is normal, as can a brown crust formation was observed. After about 8 days, the pigmented skin cells are shed from the skin. In many cases, a good cosmetic result is thus already achieved. In principle, further treatments at intervals of around 14 days can be carried out.
In the treated area body hair can fall out after a few days, a large number of them will grow again after a period of inactivity, a part is removed but also forever.
What rules of conduct to be observed?
Basically prevent a skin rejuvenation with Photosilk in any way from exercising all professional and leisure activities easily. but should be limited before and after each treatment, the visit to the solarium or the natural sun tanning for about 3 weeks. The additional exposure of the skin to UV radiation and tanning increases the risk for side effects (sunburn, pigmentation).
In the treatment of larger areas of skin is completely discourage sunbathing and solarium, smaller loads can be covered very well by sunblock with a correspondingly high sun protection factor (better 60 than 30,). Single small areas can also be protected with a patch from solar radiation.
